EVwire brief: Amazon's trucking partners in Germany now get expanded access to Aral pulse's ultra-fast truck charging network. The expanded access includes the megawatt charging park in Königs Wusterhausen on the A10 near Berlin.
According to the National Charging Infrastructure Office, Aral pulse's roughly 35 sites along strategic corridors make up Germany's largest public ultra-fast truck charging network.
More than 50 battery-electric trucks in Amazon's transport network are expected on German roads by the end of the year. Amazon partners have also charged more than 1 million kWh at Aral pulse since the partnership began with a 2022 pilot at an Amazon site in Dortmund.

Andreas Marschner, Vice President of Worldwide Sustainable Operations at Amazon, said reliable charging is a crucial part of the company's electrification plans:
“We are investing heavily in the electrification of our transport network in Europe, and reliable charging infrastructure is a crucial building block. Through our expanded collaboration with Aral pulse, Amazon's partners can charge electric trucks quickly and reliably at strategic locations across Germany, and so transport goods sustainably at scale.”
Aral pulse's megawatt parks combine MCS and CCS charging. An electric truck can charge from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes at the company’s megawatt parks. However, charging speed depends on battery capacity and maximum voltage.

Each site has drive-through bays for electric trucks and round-the-clock access to toilets, showers, rest areas and shop or food services. According to Aral, drivers can charge during mandatory rest periods at well-lit sites with easy access to major routes.
Alexander Junge, Aral board member for e-mobility, said the expansion shows the network is built for large commercial fleets on long-haul routes:
“The expansion of our collaboration with Amazon underscores that Aral pulse's charging infrastructure is designed for large commercial fleets in long-haul transport. Over the past few years, we have expanded our truck charging network to meet rising demand for reliable high-power charging solutions.”
The agreement sits within a wider global partnership between bp Group which owns Aral, and Amazon. The two companies focus on secure energy supply and advanced digital tools, including GenAI. Amazon Web Services is bp Group’s preferred cloud provider for bp.

Context:
Amazon's European truck program has been building for a while. The first 27 eActros 600 trucks of its German fleet was part of a 200-plus unit order that is the largest electric truck deal in Amazon's history.
Other European operators are scaling their electric heavy-duty fleets too. GEODIS recently ordered 110 Volvo and Renault electric heavy-duty trucks for France, expanding its own charging corridors as it does.
