FULL VIDEO: Tesla Cybercab launch event full presentation recording in Austin

EVwire brief: The full Tesla Cybercab launch event presentation was not livestreamed by Tesla, but it is now available to watch, thanks to attendees of the event.

Kyle Conner of Out of Spec recorded the entire event in Austin, Texas on 3rd September, 2026. The presentation featured Tesla Autonomy VP Ashok Elluswamy and the Cybercab team on stage, talking about the specifics of the Cybercab.

Here is the full recording:

The presentation covered some of the Cybercab's history, such as Tesla’s 12-year effort to bring the vehicle and its technology to market. Elluswamy also announced that Tesla’s Unsupervised Robotaxi fleet has reached one million miles.

Context:

The Cybercab launch event was an invite-only affair in Austin, where Tesla has been running unsupervised FSD rides since June 2026. The event gave attendees hands-on access to the vehicle and a detailed look at the engineering behind it.

Several creators and journalists on location shared detailed breakdowns of the event's announcements. Here are some of the highlights from EVwire's Cybercab launch coverage:

  • Tesla has crossed one million unsupervised FSD miles in Austin and opened the Cybercab to public rides through the Tesla app.

  • The Cybercab's permanent magnet motor uses zero rare earth metals, a first for any Tesla vehicle.

  • Tesla has also gone live with a page where interested customers can order the Cybercab.

  • The Cybercab is the first Tesla with brake-by-wire, eliminating brake fluid entirely with individual actuators at each corner.

  • Everything we know about Tesla's Cybercab, a full roundup of specs, pricing, and timelines.
