EVwire Brief: Tesla has officially opened operations in Slovakia, with a pop-up store in Bratislava, the local SK configuration page, and three days of an opening event at the Eurovea Mall Promenade in downtown Bratislava.
From 16th to 18th of January 10:00-21:00, everyone is invited to the official launch event, which offers test drives, vehicle displays (even Cybertruck), and even a kids’ racetrack with the mini-Teslas.
Here are some pictures from the first event day, as seen on Mojelektromobil.sk:

According to Michal Lukáč, the Tesla Optimus was brought out (in) the tent, and the Tesla Owners Slovakia club gave a warm welcome to Tesla in the form of a light show in front of The Slovak National Theater:
The configurator for Tesla Model 3 & Y indicates delivery dates of approximately March to April 2026. Special thanks to Martin Salamon from ejoin EU for a local view on all this.
Tesla has also opened its first Tesla Store in Bratislava — a pop-up one first — at Tuhovská 10, which seems to be right next to the Honda, Fiat and Hedin Automotive dealerships, on the outskirts of Bratislava near the Zlaté Piesky:

Per the local EV site MojElektromobil.sk, this is also where Tesla plans its new Showroom (and likely service center?) replacing a former Jeep and Dodge dealership after finishing renovation of the building.
Tesla has used the pop-up Store approach several times by now when launching in a new country, such as in Czechia and Lithuania. This might also give us a hint on the timeline: in Lithuania’s case, the pop-up Store was opened in September 2024, while the Service center was opened on December 18th, 2024, so within three months.
It’s likely the main bottleneck in Slovakia’s case will be the completion of the new building, however, we can assume this is expected in about three months from now considering the pop-up timing.
Tesla currently has 6 Supercharging locations built across Slovakia for 46 Superchargers total, two of the sites are located in Bratislava.
Supratik Saha, the Staff Program Manager who oversees the finance operations for new market expansions globally, wrote the so-far only communication from Tesla team side:
“Tesla is now live in Slovakia ⚡
Slovakia sits at the heart of the EU, has one of the highest car production rates per capita in the world, and has a strong appetite for advanced technology. Expanding here further strengthens our footprint across EU countries!🌍
We have started the year strong and are looking forward to building on the momentum. Big shout-out to all the teams involved! 🚀”

EV sales in Slovakia are already soaring this year
As per usual, the lack of official presence does not mean there aren’t Teslas in the country — in Q1 2025, it was reported by SEVA that Tesla became the best-selling EV in the country.
An official presence will, of course, also create more trust in any potential buyer who might have been holding off due to this.
There are also specialists in the market, like drivetesla.sk, who have been helping local owners get a new or used Tesla for years now — in this case, for 9 years and 1,079 Teslas total.
They essentially acted as a Tesla showroom in Bratislava before there is an actual showroom. While it might not impact its used Tesla sales, we would assume the ‘new’ Tesla business is now taken over by Tesla’s own channels.

In either case, Tesla is entering an emerging EV market: from January to November 2025, battery electric vehicle sales increased by 84.1% in the country year-over-year, to 3,844 EVs sold. There’s a lot more work to be done, as the BEV market share is still at 4.56% of all car sales in Slovakia.
Tesla has gone on an expansion spree lately
Tesla has been quite busy in new market entries recently — just last week we broke the news about Tesla officially entering Estonia and Latvia, there’s some buzz around Morocco, and in case you missed it, one of the recent official launch was in Colombia.
