EVwire brief: Tesla's paid Robotaxi rides have covered roughly 2.4 million miles (about 3.9 million km) cumulatively through the end of June, per the Q2 2026 shareholder deck.
Unsupervised rides are now live in six metros: Austin, Dallas and Houston, joined in July by Miami, Orlando and Tampa. The SF Bay Area remains the seventh live market, operating with a safety driver under a California TCP permit.
Phoenix and Las Vegas are listed as "preparations underway," with Tesla naming testing, permitting and first responder training as the expansion work in progress.
However, calling it as it is from what we see here โ the paid rides growth has slowed this quarter. That might be because of Teslaโs focus on entering the new markets, or waiting for either regulatory or technological advancements. We do know it is stacking up those Cybercabs and on some markets also the Model Ys that are fitted with the rear camera washer indicating they are for robotaxi serviceโฆ

The mileage chart shows the curve steepening sharply from February onward, with the total more than doubling over the first half of 2026.
The fleet's future workhorse is also coming into view: Cybercab began production at Giga Texas this quarter with a listed capacity of over 125,000 units a year, and employee rides on the factory campus started in July.
Two things can be true at once: this is still a rounding error next to Waymo's mileage, and it's also the fastest-growing paid AV service in the country by trajectory. The Florida triple-launch in one month is the tell.
Context: Miami was Tesla's first Robotaxi market outside Texas and California when it opened on July 3, and Orlando and Tampa followed within the month. The deck's summary line puts the service "live in seven major metros." How fast the remaining metros convert from "preparations underway" to live service is the number to watch for Q3.
