EVwire brief: BMW has unveiled the M Concept Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a world premiere that showcases the new BMW M design language and signals the performance brand's all-electric future.
Underneath the show car sits BMW M eDrive, a drivetrain concept with four electric motors, 800-volt technology, and a high-voltage battery holding more than 100 kWh.
The new BMW M design language forms the expressive spearhead of the Neue Klasse – determined and purposeful. At BMW M, form consistently follows function. Every detail serves performance. This project is truly special to me because it carries the BMW M character into a new era.

The car may be M3 sized, but it packs four electric motors and 100+ kWh battery pack
The concept is already being read by some as a first glimpse of the electric BMW M3, though BMW itself has not confirmed this. Carwow, in a post on X, shared some of its speculations for the vehicle.
Either way, the M Concept Neue Klasse presents a good signal as to where BMW’s electric program is going.
Here's a video of the vehicle’s unveiling, as shared by Car and Driver on X:
The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse’s exterior leans hard on motorsport references. New M Yellow Lights, set to become a signature feature of future BMW M cars, nod to GT racing machines and the BMW M Hybrid V8, while the front apron adopts a trimaran-style bumper inspired by high-speed sailing boats.
Three-dimensional Track Lights, a forward-leaning shark nose, a ducktail spoiler, and a floating diffuser round out the package, finished in a newly developed Monza Red metallic with red-and-blue centre-lock wheels.
Natural fiber elements appear in the front splitter, bonnet air outlet, diffuser, and roof graphic, where the material gets a refined finish with M branding for the first time.

The interior of the M Concept Neue Klasse is very… colorful, admittedly
Inside, four newly developed bucket seats with red five-point belts wear two-tone Merino leather in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red, and black nubuck leather makes its first BMW M appearance on the steering wheel, door panels, and roll bar.
The M eDrive concept is based on the Neue Klasse's Gen6 technology and pairs its four motors with BMW M Dynamic Performance Control, the central control software running in the company's Heart of Joy high-performance computer.
Wheel-specific control of the drivetrain and brakes promises high recuperation performance, optimal traction at the limit, and a particularly direct response, with the battery housing structurally integrated with both axles.

BMW’s design language for the M Concept Neue Klasse is definitely striking, if not a bit polarizing
