EVwire brief: South Korean car-sharing service Socar has recorded over 2,000 reservations for its Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised subscription service, following the rollout of a pilot in Seoul.
Socar charges a premium for the service. The Model S + FSD Supervised subscription costs KRW 1.49 million (US$1,000) per week, or KRW 3.99 million ($2,700) per month.
The service uses 100 Tesla Model S vehicles equipped with FSD (Supervised). In a comment, Socar highlighted the novelty of experiencing FSD (Supervised) personally.
“Actually riding in it allows you to feel that the era of autonomous driving is rapidly approaching.”

Context:
Because only U.S.-produced Tesla vehicles are approved to operate FSD Supervised domestically, the majority of Teslas in South Korea, which are imported from Giga Shanghai, do not have the feature activated locally.
This has resulted in some Model 3 and Model Y owners forcibly activating FSD Supervised on their vehicles using third-party solutions. Tesla has been cracking down on the practice.
Socar’s service then represents one of the few ways for drivers to truly experience FSD Supervised for themselves. And based on the 2,000 reservations garnered by the service so far, it appears that consumer interest in FSD Supervised is high.

FSD Supervised is only approved in South Korea for the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck
Tesla is gaining momentum in South Korea
While FSD Supervised is getting a lot of interest, Tesla as a brand is already seeing some momentum in the country.
Tesla has taken the top spot in South Korea’s imported car market for the first time in March, with registrations jumping 330% year-over-year to 11,134 units.
This allowed Tesla to overtake long-dominant import players like BMW and Mercedes-Benz across all powertrains.
During the month, Tesla delivered 20,964 units in Q1 2026, ahead of BMW’s 19,368 and Mercedes-Benz’s 15,862.
