EVwire brief: Tesla has officially launched the Model Y L in the United States, bringing its extended, three-row, six-seat Model Y stateside at last. The US debut opens with a Limited Edition Premium AWD "Launch Series" trim priced at $61,990, and deliveries start in September-October.
The Launch Series bundles a year each of FSD (Supervised), Supercharging, and Premium Connectivity, plus a free choice of any paint, interior, and wheel option, and it carries exclusive badging, floor mats, puddle lights, suede dash inserts, and sill plates.

The Model Y L is the most expensive Model Y L series in the United States

The Model Y L is now Tesla’s default family hauler (for families of six, at least)
Context:
The launch lands barely a day after Tesla started dropping hints, and the breadcrumb trail now reads as a very deliberate 24-hour tease.
The teasing opened with Tesla's official X account posting a comically stretched dachshund captioned "Looking forward to the long weekend," timed right ahead of the July 4 holiday. Tesla is no stranger to meme humor, but eagle-eyed users immediately noticed that the long dog's collar carries a Model Y Launch Series tag.
A second breadcrumb sits in Tesla's 23rd-anniversary post. Included in the company’s post was a graphic featuring the company’s products, from Optimus to the Semi to Megapack batteries.
But while Tesla’s celebratory "world of abundance" graphic is expansive, it also has a Model Y L near its center, as X user @rajuvamsi007 first flagged. It’s very easy to miss, but it’s hard to deny the extended rear windows in the vehicle, which are characteristic of the Model Y L.
Well. That didn't take long. The hints were exactly what they looked like.
