EVwire brief: Tesla has officially opened its first Supercharger stations in Colombia, marking another expansion step for the company’s growing Latin American charging network.
The new stations are located at Unicentro Shopping Mall in Medellín and Andino Shopping Mall in Bogotá, with Tesla Charging announcing the launch through its official account:
To commemorate the launch, Tesla wrapped one of Colombia’s first Supercharger stalls in the country’s national flag colors, a tradition the company has increasingly used to celebrate major Supercharger milestones around the world.
Tesla also confirmed that Supercharger voting is now live in Colombia, allowing local users to suggest future charging locations.
Tesla’s longtime Supercharger executive Max de Zegher highlighted the significance of the expansion in a follow-up post.
Tesla’s Special-Wrapped Supercharger Tradition
Tesla has increasingly used specially wrapped Supercharger stalls to commemorate major milestones and market launches globally.
Notable examples include:
Chile’s first Supercharger station, which featured a Chilean-flag-themed wrap as Tesla entered South America
Norway’s 2,000th Supercharger stall with a Norwegian flag design
Hong Kong’s 400th Supercharger stall featuring a skyline-themed commemorative design

Context:
The Colombia launch represents an important infrastructure milestone for Tesla’s broader Latin American expansion.
Tesla officially entered the Colombian vehicle market in late 2025 with the Model 3 and Model Y, with initial customer deliveries hitting streets in late January 2026. Until now, however, owners relied largely on home charging setups and third-party infrastructure.
