Tesla’s Year over Year comparisons
Tesla's Q1 2026 showed a clear recovery from the weak Q1 2025, which was heavily impacted by the major Model Y production changeover. Total vehicle production rose 12.6% year-over-year to 408,386 units in Q1 2026 from 362,615 in Q1 2025, driven mainly by higher Model 3/Y output (394,611 vs 345,454).
Deliveries grew more modestly by 6.3% to 358,023 vehicles from 336,681, with Model 3/Y deliveries increasing 5.6% to 341,893 from 323,800. Other models (comprised of the Model S, Model X, and the Cybertruck) saw lower production but higher deliveries (16,130 vs 12,881).
Energy storage deployments, however, declined 15.4% to 8.8 GWh from 10.4 GWh in Q1 2025 due to project timing.
