EVWire brief: Volkswagen Group released its battery-electric truck sales numbers for the TRATON Group for the first half of 2025 (link): 1,300 total truck sales, up 124.1% year-over-year from 600 units in the first half of 2024, but still making up just 0.85% of its 153,200 overall truck sales.

MAN has sold 810 e-trucks in the first half of 2025, more than tripling its sales from 240 (+243.5%), yet EVs still make up just 1.7% of all MAN sales;

VW Truck & Bus sold 50 e-trucks in the first half of 2025 (-44% YoY), 0.20% EV share;

Scania sold 220 e-trucks in the first half of 2025, exactly doubling from 110 units last year, but still at 0.47% of all Scanias sold;

International sold 180 e-trucks in the first half of 2025, +2.9% from last year’s 170, 0.52% EV share.

In other news, the Traton Group recently launched its joint Group Research & Development organisation, uniting 9,000 engineers from Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus. The goal is to accelerate modular electric and connected vehicle technologies under one umbrella.
