About EVwire
EVwire is an independent news site and newsletter covering electric vehicles, charging, batteries, electric trucks and robotaxis. We've been at it since 2020.
We publish several news stories a day on evwire.com, plus a weekly newsletter that more than 14,000 subscribers read. Most stories open with an EVwire brief, a short summary of what happened. After that comes the context you need and a link to every source we used.
Coverage runs from Tesla and the rest of the automakers to charging networks, batteries, EV sales data and the race to put robotaxis on the road. Our topic hubs go deeper: Teslawire, Chargingwire, Batterywire, Robotaxiwire and eTruckwire.

Jaan Juurikas, founder and editor-in-chief. Jaan started EVwire under its old name, EV Universe. He writes the newsletters and selected features, decides what we publish and handles corrections.
Simon Alvarez, news writer. Simon writes most of our daily news. He joined EVwire in April 2026 after years of covering Tesla and the wider EV industry.
Michael Timmons, contributor. Michael is a mechanical engineer and project manager who covers the Canadian EV market for us.
