How we report, correct and stay independent

The rules every EVwire story follows. Last updated 23 September 2026.

Sources come first

We build every story on primary sources wherever they exist: company announcements, regulatory filings, official posts from the people involved, and data we can check ourselves. They're linked in the text and listed again in the Source block at the end of each article. When we rely on another outlet's reporting, we credit it and link to it.

What we add

A press release pasted into our layout isn't a story. Each piece brings something the original source doesn't have on its own, whether that's background from our earlier coverage, figures from other sources, quotes and reactions, or a plain explanation of why it matters to EV drivers and the industry.

Leaks, rumors and unconfirmed reports

Some stories start with a leak or a report nobody has confirmed yet. We say so in the headline or the first lines, and we tell you where it came from.

Where we stand

We think the move to electric and autonomous vehicles is good for drivers and for the planet, and we don't hide it. We don't cheer for any single company, though. Tesla gets more coverage than anyone because our readers ask for it, and it's held to the same standard as every other brand.

How we use AI

Our newsroom uses AI tools for research, first drafts, formatting and checking our own copy. Every story still has a named writer who answers for it. That writer checks the facts against the linked sources and edits the piece before it goes live, and the byline on the page is theirs.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong, we fix it fast. If a correction changes what a story says, we add a note at the end explaining what changed and when. Typos and small slips we simply fix. Stories that develop after we publish get updated, with the new information marked as an update.

Advertising, sponsors and referral links

Advertisers and sponsors have no say in what we cover or how we cover it. Sponsored sections in our newsletters are labeled, and ads on the site sit apart from the articles. Some links, including the referral codes on codes.evwire.com, can earn us a commission. Whether a product gets covered is never decided by that.

Who's responsible

Jaan Juurikas, founder and editor-in-chief, is responsible for everything EVwire publishes. News tips go to [email protected].
