Context:
Instead of a long take of ours here, we’ll just show you the full farewell post from Robert Falck which sums everything up:
Ten years ago, Einride didn’t exist. It wasn’t a company. It was just a thought. A conversation over coffee. A naïve dream, maybe — that something as massive and outdated as freight could be reimagined. Not tweaked. Rebuilt.
Today, that dream is a platform, a team, and a global operation moving real freight in real markets. We’ve made progress that many said was impossible.
Now, it’s time for the next chapter.
After nearly a decade as CEO, I’m stepping into the role of Executive Chairman of the Board. I’ll continue to focus on long-term strategy, technology direction, and the bold bets that shape the future of our business.
This isn’t about stepping back — it’s about pushing forward.
Here’s what we’ve built so far:
Put the world’s first cab-less, autonomous, electric truck on a public road
Jönköping, Sweden, 2019. No driver’s seat. No emissions. A world first — and a signal of what’s possible.
Built the full system
Vehicle, software, and infrastructure — engineered from scratch for a future beyond diesel and drivers.
Ran over 300,000 electric shipments
Not pilots. Real freight. At an industrial scale.
Proved the economics
Electric freight doesn’t just work — it competes. On cost, performance, and uptime.
Cut 16 million kg of CO₂e from customer supply chains
Real emissions avoided. Delivered today.
Scaled to 8 countries
Each launch is a milestone in regulation, infrastructure, and execution.
Earned the trust of industry leaders
GE Appliances, PepsiCo, Lidl, Electrolux, Bridgestone, and many more.
Raised over $650 million
Fueling the infrastructure, software, and team behind real transformation.
Made history in the U.S.
First to operate autonomous electric freight on public roads — a turning point for the industry.
Built one of the most capable teams in freight tech
Engineers, operators, and technologists are solving hard problems at scale.
Made Einride a name the world knows
A brand that stands for real, visible progress in how the world moves.
To the Einride team: you’ve built something extraordinary.
To our customers, partners, and investors: thank you for your trust, your belief, and your shared ambition.
This next chapter isn’t about stepping back — it’s about going further, and continuing to build on what once was just a wild idea, a naïve dream to reinvent freight mobility.
The future is ours to create.
A photo of me in 2017, at the first pod visit trip to Silicon Valley, back in the days when every start-up founder wore black t-shirts and sunglasses. Clearly, I took notes.
