Adventuring through the Canadian Rockies

EVwire brief: Volvo Cars has unveiled the all-electric Volvo EX60, a mid-size SUV designed with impressive range, charging speed, safety, and price. Also unveiled is a more rugged EX60 Cross Country variant built for drivers with a go-anywhere mindset.

While there was indication that the EX60 will be priced competitively, no estimates were provided in the press release by Volvo. However, upon reaching out to them for details, they indicated that it will be well-equipped for around $60,000 USD (~$82,000CAD). I expect the mid-trim, P10 to be around that price point with the P6 being a bit less and the P12 being costing more.

Check out the Volvo EX60 unveil during the livestream that aired on January 21, 2026:

โ€œThe new, all-electric EX60 changes the game in terms of range, charging and price and represents a new beginning for Volvo Cars and our customers,โ€

- Hรฅkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars.

Alongside the EX60 debut, Volvo Cars also unveiled the Volvo EX60 Cross Country.

Volvo EX60 Cross Country

Building on the EX60โ€™s range, fast charging, and advanced technology, the Cross Country variant adds a more robust, adventure-focused design. Exclusive features include:

  • A new Frost Green exterior color

  • Unique Cross Country wheels

  • Distinctive front, rear, and D-pillar branding

  • Brushed stainless steel skid plates

  • Wider, rugged wheel arches

Functionally, the EX60 Cross Country sits 20 millimetres higher than the standard EX60, enhancing visibility and confidence. With air suspension, drivers can raise the vehicle an additional 20 millimetres when needed or also lower it at highway speeds to improve efficiency, stability, and aerodynamics.

The EX60 Cross Country will be available with two AWD powertrain options:

  • P10 AWD Electric: up to 300 miles of range (launch variant)

  • P12 AWD Electric: longer-range option arriving shortly after

Pre-orders for the Cross Country variant are now open in select European markets, with additional regions to follow later this year.
