Hyundai IONIQ 6 N showcased at 2026 CIAS

EVwire brief: Hyundai Auto Canada showcased the all-new IONIQ 6 N at the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto, highlighting improvements made from the highly praised IONIQ 5 N and proving to customers that the electrified high-performance N Brand is here to stay.

At the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow (CIAS) in Toronto, during their press conference, on February 12th, 2026, Hyundai Auto Canada showcased the national premiere of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N.

Building on the success of the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N introduces a more distinct N-focused design and a suite of advanced hardware and software upgrades aimed at maximizing precision and endurance during high-intensity driving.

Quick specs of the IONIQ 6 N:

  • 641 horsepower, 568 lb.ft of torque

  • 0-100km/r in 3.2 seconds

  • 257km/h top speed (~160mph)

  • 0.27Cd drag coefficient

  • 10-80% charge in 18 minutes

  • 487km driving range (WLTP)

Hyundai optimized the IONIQ 6 N specifically for circuit performance, introducing several technical innovations:

  • Redesigned suspension geometry for improved handling and control

  • Enhanced N e-Shift (virtual gear shift) system with shorter gear ratios

  • Refined N Active Sound + system with upgraded hardware and acoustic tuning

These updates are designed to deliver a more immersive, engaging driving experience while maintaining daily drivability, which is a core philosophy of the N Brand.

❝

“The arrival of IONIQ 6 N in Canada is a clear signal of Hyundai’s confidence in the growth of the N Brand and the appetite for high-performance electrified vehicles,”

- Michael Ricciuto, Director of Product and Corporate Strategy at Hyundai Auto Canada

He noted that N has become a key pillar of Hyundai’s identity, rooted in motorsport-inspired engineering and driver-focused performance.

Since launching its first N model in Canada in 2019, Hyundai has sold more than 6,800 N vehicles nationwide. The Canadian N community continues to expand, supported by track days, enthusiast meetups, online forums, and social media engagement.
