Unveiled under the theme โThe Power of Firsts,โ the EV2 represents Kiaโs vision for a new entry point into electric mobility. Despite its compact footprint, the model is engineered to deliver a space-rich cabin and an engaging electric driving experience.
Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song described the EV2 as a key step in broadening the brandโs EV reach, noting that it brings advanced EV technology, thoughtful design, and everyday usability to customers seeking a compact yet capable electric vehicle.
The EV2 GT Line adds a more expressive, lifestyle-oriented character through model-specific bumpers, body-colored garnishes, side-sill details, and dedicated wheels, offering a more premium and adventurous aesthetic.
The Kia EV2 has impressive features:
Despite being the smallest EV in Kiaโs lineup, the EV2 features one of its most expressive interiors. The cabin is designed around the concept of a โPicnic Boxโ โ a calm, welcoming personal space intended to provide a moment of comfort within busy urban environments.
A wraparound crash pad integrates a panoramic wide display, combining a 12.3-inch digital cluster, 5-inch climate panel, and 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Horizontal design elements enhance the sense of openness, while fabric-rich materials add warmth and tactile comfort.
Ambient lighting extends across the cabin and synchronizes with turn signals, supporting intuitive communication and driver reassurance. Physical controls are arranged by frequency of use to reduce distraction, while thoughtful storage solutions โ including a flexible lower console, wireless charging tray, adjustable cup holders, and separated door armrests โ maximize usability.
EV-specific features include EV Route Planner, Plug & Charge, and bidirectional V2L and V2G capability, supporting both daily commuting and lifestyle use. Additional convenience features include Digital Key 2, wireless over-the-air updates, a Kia AI Assistant, premium Harman/Kardon audio, 100W USB-C charging, and a dedicated Pet Mode.
The EV2 incorporates upper-segment safety and driver-assistance technologies, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2, Hands-on Detection, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Two available battery options: 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh, delivering an anticipated driving range of up to 317 km and 448 km (WLTP), respectively. Fast charging enables a 10โ80% charge in approximately 29 to 30 minutes, depending on battery size, with support for 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging.
Production of the EV2 standard-range model is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
