EVWire brief: Madrid has launched one of the country’s biggest EV charging hubs, with 40 public fast charge points now available at the renovated Nuevos Ministerios metro station.
Location: Nuevos Ministerios Metro Station, Paseo de la Castellana, Madrid
Chargers: 40 DC chargers
22 fast chargers by Iberdrola | bp pulse with 175 kW to 350 kW;
18 fast chargers by Tesla
expected to expand to 60 chargers in the coming months.
Total available power: 3.5MW. All energy supplied comes exclusively from 100% certified renewable sources.
At this same location, in 2020, Porsche Ibérica and Melfosur installed two 50 kW chargers for all electric car users. “This was undoubtedly the seed of what has been implemented today,” Porsche writes.

The renovations were completed by Saba, an industrial operator in mobility services across 189 cities in Europe and Latin America, specializing in car park management. Saba hasinstalled over 1,600 charging points across its car parks, 730 of which are operated by Saba.
