EVwire Brief: Teslaโs official entities have recently registered two new business entities: in Latvia (Tesla Latvia SIA) and in Estonia (Tesla Estonia Oร). If the market entry follows the timeline of Lithuania, weโll see the official Tesla Store and Service locations up in March or April! If they follow a similar path, we should also see a pop-up Store, well, pop up, any week now.
Context:
The parent company of both of these entities is Tesla International B.V, and the three members of the board registered for both are high-level Tesla executives:
Kim Gaba Jensen, the Regional Lead North Region at Tesla,
Stephan Werkman, the EU Finance Director at Tesla and officially also the Managing Director of Tesla International B.V.
David Feinstein, Sr. Director, Global Trade & New Markets - Finance at Tesla.
To be clear, the establishment of these companies here is as official as it gets, as youโll also find some of the scanned documents we surfaced that have been used as proof of establishing, signatures from both this and other side of the pond, using the trademark, etc.
The Estonian company was officially formed on December 16th 2025, and the Latvian one on November 7th.
Notably, the entities are not registered in their areas of activity as sales of motor vehicles, but as โRepair and maintenance of motor vehiclesโ, clearly showing the plans of launching the service centers.
This marks a specific step in market entry, as Tesla has recently opened its official presence in Lithuania, where the team said they plan to take on the rest of the Baltics โASAPโ.
The timeline of Teslaโs launch in Lithuania:
The official company was founded on August 7, 2024,
The pop-up Store was opened in September 2024, while the
The Service center was opened on December 18th, 2024.
This makes it likely that weโll see the real launch of an official service center even before the summer of 2026.
The current Estonian address of the Tesla subsidiary, Rotermanni 6 in Tallinn, seems to be a temporary business HQ given that it is located in one of Tallinnโs central business districts with rooms to rent for businesses. We have heard rumors of Tesla potentially setting up its operations in either รlemiste or Peetri in Estonia, but no concrete evidence so far.
Currently, for Latvians, the closest Tesla service center is in Vilnius, and for Estonians, the closest is in Helsinki, Finland.
Tesla is already at the top in Estonia and Latvia even without official presence.
As of today, 6th of January, Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are the two most-registered electric vehicles on Estonian roads (most brought in as used from rest of Europe), and Tesla beats the automakers on totals with 1,835 Teslas vs Nissan at 985 on second place:

Our snapshot today from Estonian national vehicle registry
For clarification, Nissan LEAF, if accounting for all of its versions, does currently beat Model Y to second place with 777 units total.
Meanwhile, the new EV market of Estonia isnโt doing that well yet โ 800 fully electric vehicles have been sold in January-November 2025, which is down -35.1% compared to same time last year and making up 6.74% of all cars sold.
This is far below the average BEV market share of all of Europe, which is at 18.8%.
Tesla is doing well in Latvia, too, with Model 3 leading the EV registrations in the country with 1,212 units, while Model Y is a bit further down in 5th place as of October 2025:

EV sales in Latvia are doing a bit better, with 1,476 units sold in Jan-November 2025, growing +27.1% year over year and achieving 7.00% BEV market share.
Our Latvian friend Karlis from Uzladets reported on the new business entity as well, noting that Teslaโs previous connection to the country was limited to the recent Supercharger charging stations in Riga and Rezekne.
Same goes for Estonia โ Tesla launched its first Supercharging site here (yes, yours truly is also an Estonian) โ earlier this year.
EVwire have also surfaced the official documents showing Tesla giving the local Estonian company Tesla Estonia Oร the right to use the TESLA trademark in the business name (redaction of signature done by us):

We have also found the exact representatives of Tesla International B.V. who have been individually appointed to represent Tesla to do all necessary steps, from representing Teslaโs interests for the Estonian Tax and Customs Board to opening a start-up bank account (stardikonto, we can literally tell you the IBAN of it) in the name of the Company. All three representatives are members of the Ellex Legal team in Estonia, which seems thus be Teslaโs choice for legal representation.
The representatives were chosen on November 4th, and the incorporation resolution was confirmed on 13th of November.

These two countries, along with Morocco, are likely to become the next official locations for Teslaโs expansion worldwide. In case you missed it, the latest addition to Teslaโs map was Colombia.
While Tesla isnโt tapping into huge EV markets here, this news on market entry comes as a very welcome sight for all the current and prospective owners in Estonia and Latvia. It also completes another piece of European presence puzzle for Tesla, filling the gap between Finland in the north and Lithuania in the south here.
