Context:
Europe's numbers line up with recent records at the country level. The Tesla Model Y became Germany's best-selling car in September, outselling the Volkswagen Golf, while Denmark saw 97% of private new-car buyers go electric in July.
The shift is showing up beyond Europe as well. Gas cars recently dropped below 50% of global new car sales for the first time, with BEVs climbing to 17%. Europe's 24.2% BEV share through September sits well above that global figure.
