Seems like the classic Tesla adage "butts in seats" is the best way to sell the Semi to businesses.

Forum Mobility customer orders 40 Tesla Semis after demo experience

EVwire brief: Forum Mobility said customer Big F Transport is expanding its electric fleet with an order for 40 Tesla Semi units after demoing a unit.

This follows Big F’s deployment of nine Daimler eCascadia trucks operating at Forum Mobility’s FM Harbor facility in the Port of Long Beach.

The Tesla Semi units are expected to operate out of Forum Mobility’s depot in Rancho Dominguez, which is currently under development and expected to go online Q1 2027.

Forum Mobility shared the update in a post on LinkedIn:

Context:

Forum Mobility provides end-to-end electrification services for heavy-duty fleets, including vehicle leasing and depot-based charging infrastructure.

The company currently operates charging hubs such as FM Santa Fe in Rancho Dominguez, which features 14 lanes of ultra-fast pull-through MCS charging.

According to the company, drivers have responded positively to electric trucks due to their smoother and quieter operation, while shippers benefit from emissions reductions tied to Scope 3 targets and regulatory incentives such as WAIRE points in California.

Forum Mobility also highlighted that the total cost of ownership (TCO) for electric trucking is competitive against diesel-powered counterparts, especially if they are supported by integrated charging and leasing models.

The company plans to deploy four additional depots through this year and early next year.

Tesla Semi appears in Washington fleet incentive launch

The Tesla Semi is also being showcased in broader fleet electrification efforts.

At a recent event hosted by CALSTART and the Washington State Department of Transportation, the vehicle, together with other electric trucks, was featured during a “Ride and Drive” event tied to the launch of Washington’s point-of-sale incentive program for zero-emission fleets.

Forum Mobility Chief Commercial Officer Matt Schrap highlighted the event as part of ongoing industry collaboration to accelerate adoption of electric heavy-duty vehicles.

Here’s a photo of the Semi at the event (We shared this on X to celebrate the event):

"Home Charging" for Class 8 trucks is a pretty solid idea, actually.
