EVwire brief: Tesla Charging has announced that its first pre-assembled Megachargers are now being deployed, giving the company a faster way to build out its Semi charging network.
The official Tesla Charging account on X shared photos of the Megachargers being installed. As per the company, the pre-assembled setup uses a V4 cabinet with two charging posts. The system is capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW (1,200 kW) of DC power per post.
The official Tesla Semi account highlighted that using pre-assembled Megachargers lowers the cost of building out the Semi’s charging infrastructure.

Tesla Senior Director of Charging Max de Zegher also mentioned that the site went from sketch to installation in just three months:
Tesla didn't disclose the location of the pre-assembled Megacharger, though the Tesla community’s go-to Supercharger tracker @MarcoRPi1 identified the site as a Fuel City location in Saginaw, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Interestingly enough, MarcoRP previously shared a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation last November for the installation of eight Semi chargers at a Fuel City location in Saginaw. The filing also listed an estimated cost of $400,000 and a completion date of December 2026.
Tesla hasn't confirmed whether that filing and this new site are the same project, though the location and equipment type do line up.

Tesla opened its first public Megacharger site in Bloomington, California, in July 2026. The station has six stalls and is open to all Tesla Semi customers. A second Megacharger site followed in Vernon, California in August, giving Semi operators another six 1.2 MW stalls in the Los Angeles-area freight network.
Tesla is also pushing the Megacharger network beyond Southern California. Earlier this month, EVwire reported that Tesla had signed a lease for a Semi charging site in Chehalis, Washington, just off I-5 between Seattle and Portland. The site plan allows for up to eight Class 8 charging stalls, with MarcoRP estimating that Tesla could start with four posts and expand to eight.
