EVwire brief: Rivian delivered 19,248 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, up 46% from the 13,201 it delivered in Q3 2025 and about 58% higher than Q2's 12,194. The EV maker also reaffirmed its full-year delivery guidance of 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles.
Production at its Normal, Illinois plant rose 84% year-over-year to 19,751, up from 10,720. Rivian said both figures were in line with its outlook for the quarter.

Through the first nine months of 2026, Rivian has delivered 41,807 vehicles. Reaching the bottom of its guidance would take about 23,200 deliveries in Q4, while the 67,500 midpoint would need roughly 25,700, a step up from Q3 but a smaller one than the jump from Q2 to Q3.
Rivian will release its full Q3 2026 financial results after market close on October 29, followed by an audio webcast at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Context:
Rivian raised its 2026 guidance to 65,000 to 70,000 in July after a Q2 that beat its own outlook, a quarter that also included a ramp of R2 customer deliveries. Q3 is the first full quarter with the R2 on the road, and the sharp quarter-over-quarter jump lines up with that ramp.
Interest in the R2 has stayed strong since launch, with Rivian saying it had logged 150,000 test drives so far this year. Rivian's numbers landed on the same day Tesla reported 486,532 deliveries, its best quarter ever without the US federal EV tax credit.
