EVwire brief: Tesla registered 7,768 vehicles in Germany in June, up 317.6% from a year earlier, as per data released by Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
The result gave Tesla a 2.6% share of Germany's overall auto market and a 9.2% share of the country's battery-electric vehicle segment, which reached 28.4% penetration in June. Year-to-date, Tesla has registered 28,857 vehicles in Germany, up 224.6% from the same period in 2025.

Industry watcher Roland Pircher noted that June was Tesla's second-best June ever in Germany, and that the year-to-date total already amounts to 149% of Tesla's entire 2025 German volume.
Context:
Germany remains Europe's largest automotive market, making KBA registration data one of the most closely watched indicators of EV demand across the region.
The June result extended the improving momentum Tesla has shown in Germany all spring, and it landed as the biggest registration increase among Germany's higher-volume import brands for the month. The German rebound also closes out the picture of Tesla's broad European recovery in June, which helped power the company's record 480,126-delivery quarter.

Tesla was not the only EV maker posting outsized growth. BYD's registrations rose 273.7% year-over-year in June, giving the Chinese automaker 2.1% of the German market, and its first-half registrations are up 315.2%. These numbers, however, include BYD's PHEV offerings.
