EVwire brief: Tesla has opened its second public Megacharger site for the Semi in Vernon, California, adding six high-power charging stalls capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW each.
The new station is located at 3130 Bandini Blvd, Vernon, CA 90058, in the heavily industrial area southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Tesla’s charging map lists six Megachargers at the site, with a maximum output of 1.2 MW.
Tesla Charging announced the new location with an image of the Megacharger, complete with an updated Tesla Semi charging at one of the stalls.
The site is also now visible on Tesla’s official charging map.

Context:
The Vernon opening follows Tesla’s first full-scale public Megacharger site in Bloomington, California, which opened in July with the same six-stall, 1.2 MW configuration. That station sits along the major freight corridor connecting the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports with the Inland Empire’s enormous logistics and distribution network.
That makes the new Vernon site more than just another charger going online. Tesla is now putting multiple public Megacharger locations around the Los Angeles freight ecosystem, giving Semi operators another place to recharge as the company works toward expanding its electric trucking operations.
Tesla has also launched its Semi Charging for Business program earlier this year, letting fleet operators install Megachargers and Basechargers at their own depots. Dan Priestley, Tesla's Semi Engineering VP, outlined the network expansion plans at the Tesla Semi Expo earlier this year.
