EVwire brief: Genoa Golf Club in Genoa, Nevada, has launched one of the first privately owned Tesla Supercharger sites in the western US, and it’s a destination all on its own — founded in 1851, Genoa is Nevada’s oldest settlement.
The Supercharging site with 8 stalls - which is larger than what we usually see from third-party developments - was developed in partnership with Tesla Energy, Trout Electric and local stakeholders, with a public ribbon-cutting event scheduled for May 8, 2026 at 12 PM to 4 PM. The event will include:
Tesla Ride and Drive experiences
Complimentary tacos and soft drinks (from 12 PM to 2 PM)
On-site access to the golf course and facilities
Public unveiling of the charging site

The launch of the new Supercharger for Business site was shared on LinkedIn by Trout Electric President, Northwest Anthony Tracey.
Context:
The project brings Tesla’s charging infrastructure to Genoa, a historic community founded in 1851 and Nevada’s oldest settlement.
The site is positioned not just as a charging stop but as a destination, giving drivers access to historic downtown shops, restaurants, scenic views of Carson Valley, and outdoor recreation.
The Tesla community’s resident Supercharger hunter @MarcoRP shared a post about this location back in Febuary. Based on the site’s plans, there will be eight Superchargers at the location.
Supercharger for Business expands Tesla’s charging network model
The Genoa installation is part of Tesla’s Supercharger for Business program, which was launched in September 2025. The initiative allows private businesses to purchase, own, and operate Tesla charging stations while leveraging Tesla’s hardware, software, and service infrastructure.
Site owners can set pricing and branding, while Tesla provides:
Charging hardware and commissioning
Software integration and network operations
Maintenance support and uptime management
Driver support through the Tesla ecosystem
The model enables faster network expansion by shifting capital investment to partners while maintaining Tesla’s standardized user experience.
Tesla released a Supercharger for Business calculator for potential partners earlier this month. It’s as transparent as you can get. We covered that in this article below:
