EVwire brief: Tesla has officially unveiled the European version of the Semi, confirming 550 km (about 342 miles) of range at a full 40-tonne gross combination weight, Megacharger support at up to 800 kW, and deliveries starting in 2027.
The Euro-spec truck drops traditional side mirrors entirely in favor of camera monitor systems, a move that European regulations have allowed on trucks since 2016 but that U.S. rules still prohibit. It also features a headlight design similar to the Model Y Standard, with actual headlights instead of a light bar.

Energy consumption sits at 1.0 kWh/km, and Tesla says the Megacharger can recover roughly 60 percent of the battery in 30 minutes. The truck also packs an electric power take-off (ePTO) rated at up to 25 kW, which lets it power auxiliary equipment like refrigeration units or hydraulic lifts without idling a diesel engine.
Curb weight comes in under 9,100 kg (under 20,000 lbs), which matters for fleet operators who need to maximize payload within the 40-tonne limit. Considering the range that Tesla Europe announced, it appears that the Standard Range variant will be brought to Europe first.

Tesla first showed the Semi in Europe at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, where it promised European specs and a launch timeline. That prototype still wore conventional mirrors then. EVwire's Jaan Juurikas was among the first five members of the public to ride in the Semi at that event and reported extensively from the show floor.
Last month, Tesla announced that it would unveil the European Semi’s specifications and launch details at IAA 2026. A teaser video released at the time also hinted at the vehicle’s camera side mirrors. Camera side mirrors have been legal on European trucks since 2016 and competitors like Mercedes-Benz, DAF, Volvo, MAN, and Scania already offer it, so it’s not that surprising that Tesla opted for similar equipment for the Euro Semi as well.
