EVwire brief: Tesla's Superchargers pumped out a record 2.4 TWh of energy in Q3 2026, 29% more than a year earlier, as the company opened around 2,700 new stalls and grew the network 15% year-over-year.
Charging sessions also rose 29% year-over-year to 69 million for the quarter. Tesla Charging said the network saved 1.1 billion liters (about 291 million gallons) of gasoline and avoided 4.4 billion kg (about 9.7 billion lb) of CO2e over the three months.
This quarter's scorecard also carries a new robotaxi line, listing 7.0 GWh of "Robotaxi Energy" next to a "100% Autonomy Unlocked" figure. Tesla did not explain what the second number refers to.

The network is also busier than ever on a per-stall basis. Tesla's utilization chart shows average sessions per stall per day climbing past 10 at its 2026 peak, the highest point on a chart that goes back to 2019. The share of drivers who have to wait for a stall has moved the other way, dipping to around 0.5%, the lowest level on the chart.
Here's how that trend looks:

Tesla's energy chart puts the year in perspective. Adding Q1's 1.8 TWh, Q2's 2.0 TWh and Q3's 2.4 TWh, the network has delivered about 6.2 TWh so far in 2026, within roughly 0.6 TWh of 2025's full-year total of about 6.8 TWh with a quarter still to go.

Context:
The Q3 results follow a record second quarter. In Q2 2026, the network delivered 2.0 TWh, up 30% year-over-year, opened around 2,700 stalls and handled 60 million charging sessions. It also saved 934 million liters (about 247 million gallons) of gasoline and avoided 3.8 billion kg (about 8.4 billion lb) of CO2e. Our Q2 2026 scorecard coverage has the full breakdown.
Here’s the Q2 scorecard:

The Supercharger Network’s Q2 2026 scorecard.
Compared with Q2, Q3 grew on every volume metric: energy went from 2.0 to 2.4 TWh and sessions from 60 to 69 million, while stall openings held at around 2,700. Year-over-year growth rates landed close to Q2's, with energy up 29% versus 30%, sessions up 29% versus 32%, and network growth at 15% versus 17%. The site-map count that appeared on the Q2 scorecard was swapped out this quarter for the new robotaxi line.
