EVwire brief: Dutch logistics company Egala has taken over 175 Mercedes-Benz trucks for its European fleet, with the order including 20 battery-electric eActros 600s alongside 155 Actros 1845 LS semitrailer tractors.
Egala supplies transportation and logistics companies with trucks and drivers, plus additional operational services, making a reliable fleet central to its business. All 175 trucks feature the aerodynamic ProCabin in GigaSpace and StreamSpace versions, Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, and assistance systems including Active Brake Assist 6 Plus and Sideguard Assist 2, with the trucks also meeting VECTO Class 3 requirements.
Daimler Truck shared the order on LinkedIn:
Are you a heavy-duty EV geek? We just launched eTruckwire, a whole news publication dedicated to electric trucks and heavy-duty charging.
Egala has also signed an international repair and maintenance contract for the new trucks, with Mercedes-Benz Uptime continuously monitoring their technical condition so maintenance and repairs can be planned ahead and unplanned downtime kept to a minimum. Fleetboard will support Egala's day-to-day fleet management, using data on driving behavior and vehicle use to help cut fuel consumption and improve efficiency.
Eric Brok, CEO of Daimler Truck Nederland, said the partnership goes beyond the trucks themselves:
"An order of this magnitude demonstrates the strong confidence Egala has in our products and services. For us, this collaboration extends far beyond the delivery of 175 trucks. With our vehicles, digital services and Europe-wide service organization, we support Egala in maintaining high fleet availability."
Egala CEO Sjef Boekestijn framed the order as a long-term bet on the relationship:
"This is more than an investment in our fleet. We are investing in a partnership with companies that, like us, think ahead and take a long-term approach. Reliability and continuity are key."

By the way, it sure looks to us like you are an EV geek like ourselves.

Context:
Egala itself is a fairly young brand with a large fleet. The company grew out of Boekestijn Transport and has operated under the Egala name since 2025, with an operational center in Poznań, Poland, according to trans.info. The outlet described the 20 eActros 600s as Egala's first large-scale step into battery-electric heavy transport.
Egala's e-trucks also join a growing number of eActros 600s entering service across Europe. Swiss retailer OTTO'S is replacing its entire truck fleet with 22 eActros 600s, while Amazon took delivery of its first 27 eActros 600s in Germany in September. Closer to home, Belgian logistics firm H.Essers recently added 20 MAN and Mercedes-Benz electric trucks, bringing its e-truck fleet to 31.
