EVwire brief: Einride plans to deploy 500 Tesla Semi trucks across North America on its Saga AI fleet intelligence platform, in what the company calls the world's largest Tesla Semi deployment to date. The trucks will serve Amazon and other Einride customers across freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, and Georgia.
The deployment will take place in multiple phases over the next 24 months, starting in September 2026, with the trucks financed through third-party financing solutions. Einride said the 500 Semis will triple the size of its deployed electric truck fleet.

Tesla Semi trucks are expected to form the largest single deployment in Einride's electric freight fleet.
The trucks will operate through Einride's Saga AI platform, which coordinates electric freight operations around variables such as charging times, energy costs and vehicle routing. Einride said Saga AI has already powered more than 19 million electric miles (30.6 million km) and 42,000 optimization sessions globally.
This deployment is yet another proof point that we can execute at the scale our customers demand. Working closely with Tesla to bring next-generation Semis into active operations quickly and at scale is a testament to the strength of that partnership, and how quickly this technology is maturing from promise to daily operations.
Tesla Semi Director Dan Priestley said the company was pleased to deepen its relationship with Einride through the 500-truck order.

Tesla Semi is designed for long-haul freight, with Tesla listing up to 500 miles (805 km) of range for its Long Range configuration.
Einride is at the forefront of sustainable freight and we are thrilled to deepen our relationship with them through this order of 500 Semis. EV heavy trucks provide lower costs per mile from fuel savings, reduced maintenance, and better uptime over diesel trucks. These savings increase further through operational efficiency when deploying EV trucks at scale, and we are excited that Einride recognizes this and look forward to supporting their deployments.
Einride said the deployment is also a step toward converting approximately $800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue under joint business plans with shippers into active, revenue-generating freight capacity.

The first Tesla Semi produced at the Nevada factory’s high-speed line. Einride’s Tesla Semis will be produced in this factory.
Context:
Einride is a Stockholm-founded freight technology company listed on Nasdaq (ENRD). It operates one of North America's largest electric freight networks, offering shippers electric trucking capacity as a managed service rather than requiring them to buy and run their own fleets. The company counts Amazon among its biggest customers.
The Tesla Semi has been in limited production since late 2022, with PepsiCo as its first major customer. Volume production has ramped over the past year as Tesla expanded its Megacharger network and manufacturing capacity. A 500-truck order from a single operator is a new scale milestone for the program.
