EVwire brief: Ford's long-promised affordable electric truck finally has a name and a price. It's the Ford Fathom, a midsize electric pickup starting at $28,350, and the first vehicle in Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle platform.

The reveal, shared on X, adds that the Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable, meaning Ford's hands-free highway driver-assist system, and pitched as fun to drive.

The Fathom has a classic pickup truck silhouette, so we played with the truck’s front fascia.
There’s some Mustang Mach-E and Lightning there, but it didn’t come out too bad, imo. - Simon
