EVwire brief: Lucid has appointed Hugo Martinho as its Chief Transformation Officer, effective August 1. It is a newly created role, and his job is to speed up how the company executes and to tighten accountability across it.
Martinho will lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives designed to accelerate execution and strengthen accountability across the company. He will also oversee Lucid's newly created Business Process function, which is intended to create a more integrated operating model across markets and business units.
Martinho announced his new role at Lucid in a post on LinkedIn:
"Lucid's products are second-to-none, and as I prepare for my transition into the role from Portugal in the coming months, I look forward to leading efforts to drive organizational change, sharpen strategic execution, and help build the systems and culture needed for the next phase."
Martinho arrives with more than 20 years in global industry at the Schindler Group, the Swiss elevator and escalator maker, where he was most recently the company's global head of HR. That is the same company Lucid's new CEO, Silvio Napoli, ran for over a decade before taking Lucid's top job in June, so Martinho is a familiar hand joining a boss he already knows.

Lucid's new CEO, Silvio Napoli has been aggressively restructuring Lucid’s leadership since he took the company’s reins in June.
Context:
Martinho joins a broader executive overhaul at Lucid. The company recently named Alexander De Bock as incoming Chief Financial Officer, Raja Ramana Macha as Chief Technology Officer, and Billy Hayes as Chief Customer Officer. It also appointed Kay Stepper as President of Lucid Technologies and Chief Digital Officer, while promoting Christian Appel to Vice President of Program Management.
Lucid said the expanded Global Leadership Team is intended to foster closer collaboration, faster decision-making, and a more integrated operating culture. The changes come as the company focuses on improving execution while preparing for future growth initiatives spanning the production of the mass-market Lucid Cosmos, software, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and robotaxis.
