EVwire brief: Electric truck fleets in Germany can now reach depot and public charging through a single platform. Milence, the heavy-duty charging network, has partnered with Depotcharge to link its public chargers with Depotcharge's shared depot-charging platform, with Germany as the first market to go live.
Depotcharge runs a B2B marketplace and eMSP (e-mobility service provider) for shared electric truck charging. Its platform connects fleet operators with available charging capacity at public networks, depots, customer sites and logistics facilities. With Milence's network plugged in, Depotchage card holders can access both through one platform.

Milence called Germany one of its fastest-growing markets and said more charging hubs there are set to open by the end of the year. The company added that it wants the partnership to help build a more interconnected charging setup for fleets across Europe.

Milence explained the reasoning behind the tie-up in its LinkedIn announcement:
For electric fleets, depot and public charging are complementary parts of daily operations.

Context:
Milence is a joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton Group and Volvo Group, set up in 2022 to build a public high-performance charging network for battery-electric heavy trucks and coaches across Europe. The Depotcharge tie-up adds a different layer to that network, putting Milence's public hubs alongside the depot and logistics-site chargers that many fleets already rely on.
Shared truck charging hubs are also growing elsewhere in Europe. Prologis and PragmaCharge recently opened a dedicated heavy-truck charging hub in Valencia, Spain, with 14 ports live on day one and 50 planned at full build-out, which the companies say will make it one of Europe's largest.
