Tesla starts customer vehicle deliveries in Estonia with Model Y delivery

EVwire brief: Tesla has handed over its first customer vehicles in Estonia, marking the company's first deliveries since officially entering the Baltic country in April.

Erlend Moland Olsen, a father of three, became Tesla's first customer in Estonia after picking up a Model Y Premium at the company's pop-up location in Tallinn's Ülemiste Center. He and his wife chose the vehicle for its size, its design, and the ability to receive over-the-air software updates. Their three children, ages 6, 8, and 10, are fans of the rear-seat entertainment screen.

❝

Model Y is a car for the whole family. I drive about 40 minutes to work and back every day, so I really look forward to this commute being even more comfortable with the new Model Y Premium.

Tesla said future deliveries in Estonia will move to a permanent location in Tallinn, where a new service center is scheduled to open this fall. The company also plans to introduce mobile service, allowing technicians to perform many service visits at customers' homes or workplaces instead of requiring a trip to a service center.

Context:

Estonia has moved quickly to embrace Tesla's technology since the company's April launch. FSD Supervised was approved in the country in late May, making Estonia the third European market to authorize the system after the Netherlands and Lithuania. The approval came just weeks after Tesla began local operations.

Tesla leads Estonia's EV registrations by a wide margin, with the Model 3 and Model Y taking the top two spots. Data: Transpordiamet.

Even before Tesla had an official presence in Estonia, the brand was already the country's most popular EV maker. Transport Administration data shows 2,187 Teslas registered in the country, with the Model 3 (1,126) and Model Y (843) holding the top two spots by model.
