EVwire brief: The Tesla Model 3 was ranked the most reliable car in the UK in Driver Power's survey, which drew on ratings from more than 100,000 British motorists.
The result stands out because the ranking reflects what owners report from living with their cars day to day, and Tesla doesn't typically come out on top in reliability studies.
Driver Power built the list by asking over 100,000 UK owners to rate how dependable their own cars are, so it captures real-world satisfaction rather than a technical measure of breakdowns or warranty claims. By that yardstick, the Model 3 came first, as highlighted by X user @Rustavi:
The win is a step up from 2024, when the Model 3 finished as the runner-up. This time owners ranked it first in three of Driver Power's ten categories.
The Model 3 came top for Powertrain, helped by the punchy electric motors that send even the base car from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in a shade over six seconds, and it picked up a bronze for Economy and Running Costs, with owners praising how simple it is to charge and how little it costs to run, up to 300 miles (480 km) on a full charge.

The Model 3 earned top marks for powertrain and infotainment
The touchscreen took second overall for infotainment but led the sub-rankings for ease of use. Owners also rated Tesla's driver-assistance the easiest to switch on and off and the most effective once running.
A top-five finish for Value, with the Model 3 starting under £40,000 (about $51,000), rounded it out, along with the least expected result of all for a Tesla: first place for Quality and Reliability, which owners chalked up to better fit-and-finish and the built-in simplicity of an electric powertrain.
