ETRUCKINGWIRE · DATA
Every battery-electric tractor unit on sale or announced for Europe, side by side: 22 trucks from 13 makers, from the eActros 600 to the BYD ETT 44 and the European Tesla Semi. Battery, range, charging, efficiency, weights, payload and warranty, in kilometres and in miles. Figures are the makers' own, each linked to its source. Updated 28 Sep 2026.

What changed this week in Hannover, newest first. Trucks with enough published specs are in the tables below. The Chinese 6x4 tractors and previews without a European sales date stay here until they get one.

Every electric tractor unit on sale or announced in Europe, in one table, trucks across and specs down. Filter by availability, switch the figures between metric and US units, sort by any of the four headline specs, and pin up to two trucks to the left so you can compare ones that are far apart. Sketches are illustrations, not engineering drawings.

Range, battery and charging for every truck in the table, longest, largest and fastest first. Each bar starts at zero.
Maker's headline claim, 0 to 800 km. Test conditions differ, so gaps under about 100 km are noise.

OUR READ
Range is no longer where these trucks differ. Eighteen of the twenty-two claim 500 km or more, enough for a European driving day with one stop. The race has moved to the plug, and to what the truck can actually carry. BYD claims more than 1.5 MW, Windrose 870 kW and Tesla 800 kW, while DAF still offers no megawatt charging at all. Payload is where the marketing thins out: eight makers publish a figure, two of them say which trailer it assumes, and Renault quotes a payload and a range that cannot both describe the same load. Nobody publishes a price list.

Every truck with its key figures. Battery is gross, with usable energy under it where stated. Power is continuous / peak unless noted. GCW is gross combination weight. n/d means not disclosed. Green names link to EVwire's coverage, the arrow to the source.

What is in the table. Battery-electric tractor units for 40 to 44 tonne combinations that are on sale in Europe or have a European launch, order book or delivery date. Heavy rigids, hydrogen trucks and concepts without a European sales date are left out for now.
Maker claims. Every figure comes from the maker or from trade press quoting the maker, linked on its row. Where sources disagree we show both and say so. We have not tested these trucks.
Range. Makers quote range under different loads, speeds and temperatures, and most do not say which. Tesla's 550 km is at 40 tonnes, 80 km/h and 20 °C; Scania's 515 km is at 42 tonnes. Read range as a class, not a ranking.
Battery. Gross is what is installed, usable is what the truck lets you use. The largest option is shown; most trucks come with fewer packs.
Motor power. Tesla's Semi spec page gives drive power of up to 800 kW from three motors on the rear axles. Tesla has not restated it for the European truck, whose separate 800 kW figure is Megacharger charging power, so watch which 800 kW a source means.
Efficiency. Energy use per kilometre, from fleet telemetry or a published road test rather than a brochure. Tesla's 1.0 kWh/km is its own European figure; its US page says 1.7 kWh/mile. Loads, routes and weather differ between these tests, so they rank roughly, not exactly.
Miles and pounds. Conversions under each figure are ours, rounded: kilometres to miles, tonnes to pounds. Gross combination weight limits differ by market, so a European 44 t truck is not licensed to run at that weight in the United States.
Kerb weight. Makers define this differently, when they publish it at all: with or without driver, fuel-equivalent fluids and a full battery set. DAF publishes a figure per build, Mercedes publishes none (the 11.7 t here is an ADAC test figure), and Volvo, Scania, Renault and Iveco publish none at all. Read the column as a class, not a ranking.
Charging. The top charging power the truck accepts. Real charging times depend on the charger, the battery's temperature and its state of charge.
Payload. Ten of the twenty-two rows here carry a payload figure and only Mercedes-Benz and MAN say which trailer it assumes so the column ranks roughly at best. Renault is the clearest warning: its own release pairs a payload of up to 28 tonnes with range figures footnoted at 32 tonnes gross, which cannot describe the same load.
Battery warranty. What the maker guarantees, not how long it expects the battery to last. The two differ widely: Mercedes warrants six years or 720,000 km to an 80% state of health while saying the packs should still be above 80% after a million kilometres. Volvo, MAN, Scania, Tesla, BYD and Sany publish no battery warranty at all.
What is not here. Rigids. Ford's F-Line E left this page in September once Ford's own site confirmed it as a 19 and 27 tonne rigid rather than a tractor, and Volvo's 80-tonne truck is a rigid with a trailer. Both belong on a separate page if we build one.
Prices. No maker publishes a list price for these trucks. Reported figures for European electric tractors run from about €250,000 to €350,000; Windrose advertises a €195,000 launch price.
Coming next. A United States edition with the Class 8 trucks sold there. Spot a figure that has changed? Reply to any EVwire email.
