EVwire brief: The first full walkaround video of Tesla’s European-spec Semi is now out, with EVwire getting up close with the truck at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover.
Three of the European Semis have been brought to IAA Transportation 2026, giving visitors a chance to get a close look at the trucks before Tesla begins its European rollout, and before Tesla Semi. Lead Dan Priestley’s keynote about the vehicle is scheduled for tomorrow.

We took particular care to capture the truck’s camera-based side mirror system, one of the most obvious differences between the European and North American versions of the Semi. Instead of conventional external mirrors, the Euro-spec truck uses cameras mounted on either side of the cab, with their feeds displayed on screens inside.
Here are some closeups of the Tesla Semi European version’s camera based side mirrors. As can be seen in these photos, each side mirror is fitted with several lenses, which just screams FSD Supervised.

Tesla's team also told EVwire that the Semi has 10 cameras positioned around the truck, providing what the company described as a full 360-degree view with no blind spots. Jaan was able to see the camera feeds on the truck's interior display, giving a good look at how the system works in practice.
Tesla also confirmed to EVwire that the European Semi's cab is exactly the same length and width as the US version on the Standard Range truck. The company said the truck benefits from an aerodynamic-truck regulation exemption in Europe, allowing it to retain the cab's design while running regular trailers.

Along with the camera mirrors, Tesla has also replaced the North American truck’s distinctive front light bar with a conventional headlight arrangement, similar to the Model Y Standard with its separated headlights.

Context:
Tesla first brought the Semi to Europe at IAA Transportation in Hannover in 2024, where the company showed two US-built trucks as its European Development Platform. Those trucks still used conventional side mirrors. Tesla subsequently confirmed that it would reveal the European Semi's specifications and launch details at IAA 2026.
Interestingly enough, Tesla unveiled the specs of the Semi’s European version last Friday. As per Tesla, the production European Semi is rated for 550 km (342 miles) of range at a full 40-tonne gross combination weight, with energy consumption of 1.0 kWh/km. Tesla says its Megacharger can recover roughly 60% of the battery in 30 minutes, while charging power can reach 800 kW.
The truck also gets an electric power take-off rated at up to 25 kW for equipment such as refrigeration units and hydraulic lifts. Tesla has said European deliveries will begin in 2027.
