EVwire brief: Bali Express Services has become the latest freight carrier to add the Tesla Semi to its fleet, marking another commercial deployment of Tesla's Class 8 electric truck as production continues to ramp.
The San Diego-based cross-border logistics company announced the delivery on LinkedIn, welcoming a Tesla Semi in Bali Express livery to its fleet, highlighting that the Class 8 all-electric truck aligns with its vision for the future.
Bali Express Services posted its update on LinkedIn.
Bali Express Services General Manager José Manuel García Castro stated that the arrival of the company’s first Tesla Semi unit is just the start.
“This Tesla Semi symbolizes the direction in which we want to continue to move forward: a cleaner, more efficient, innovative and future-proof operation.”
The delivery comes just weeks after the Port of Long Beach recognized Bali Express for helping establish a Green Truck Corridor between Long Beach and Mexico. The roughly 125-mile corridor is designed to support cleaner freight movement between Southern California and one of the United States' busiest trading partners.
Bali Express currently operates 32 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks and six battery-electric trucks on the route. The company has said it plans to add 20 more CNG trucks and 20 more electric trucks this year, including Tesla Semis, as part of its broader fleet expansion.

Interestingly enough, Bali Express Services’ first Tesla Semi appears to be a pre-refresh unit. (Source)
Context:
During a Port of Long Beach ceremony on June 25, where port officials recognized Bali Express for building out a Green Truck Corridor between Long Beach and Mexico, Bali Express Company Director Juan Baez said the company's green operations over the past year were equivalent to "removing 1,930 vehicles from the road," and that the long-term goal is a fully zero-emissions fleet of more than 350 trucks by 2040.
Bali Express has been here before. In April 2024, one of the company's electric semis became the first Class 8 heavy-duty electric truck to cross the US-Mexico border. The vehicle ran on charging infrastructure San Diego Gas & Electric built for the route.
The Tesla Semi is seeing a lot of adoption as of late. ATC Logistics signed on for 20 Tesla Semis out of Forum Mobility's Rancho Dominguez depot, following a similar 20-truck order from QX Logistix and a 40-truck order from Big F Transport. In Chicago, Paper Transport is piloting a Tesla Semi Long Range on its dedicated freight routes. Tesla has also been expanding its Semi Charging for Business program to support exactly this kind of depot-based fleet.
