EVwire brief: BYD has unveiled the ETT 44 4x2, a new battery-electric tractor for European heavy-duty transport with a 651 kWh Blade Battery, up to 1,000 PS and a claimed range of 600 km (373 miles).
The truck has a 44,000 kg (97,003-pound) gross combination weight and a high-roof, flat-floor sleeper cab.
The ETT 44 supports more than 1.5 MW of MCS charging, allowing a 20%-to-80% charge in 20 minutes or less. BYD says that can add up to 400 km (248 miles) of range. CCS2 charging is supported at up to 420 kW.

The ETT 44, with its 1.5 MW charging, is a big statement from BYD.

Context:
The ETT 44 is the flagship of BYD Commercial Vehicles' expanded European lineup, which now stretches from 3.5-tonne (7,716-pound) vehicles to 44-tonne (48.5-ton) heavy-duty trucks.
BYD is positioning the truck as part of a broader ecosystem covering vehicles, batteries, charging infrastructure, energy storage, energy management and financing. The ETT 44 is therefore not just the company's first major European electric tractor launch. It is also the first commercial-vehicle application of the 1.5 MW Flash Charging technology that BYD has been developing for its passenger vehicles.
