EVwire brief: Tensor and Turkish mobility platform Marti have signed a multi-year partnership to deploy Level 4 autonomous vehicles across Türkiye, bringing robotaxi services to one of Europe's largest ride-hailing markets.
Marti currently operates ride-hailing services in 20 cities representing roughly 80% of Türkiye's GDP, serving approximately 7.8 million unique users. Under the agreement, Tensor's autonomous vehicles will be integrated directly into the Marti app, allowing customers to hail driverless rides once the service launches.
The companies did not announce a rollout timeline or disclose how many vehicles will be deployed. However, the partnership marks Tensor's latest expansion into global fleet operations following previously announced collaborations in the United States, Denmark, and the United Arab Emirates. As per Tensor in a post on LinkedIn:
In a media release, Tensor stated that the agreement represents another step in its strategy to expand autonomous ride-hailing beyond North America through partnerships with established mobility platforms.
“Our strategic collaboration with Marti is a bold step in our mission to democratize autonomy and bring a premium autonomous experience to Marti platform consumers. […] Together with Marti, we are excited to deliver the cutting edge of transportation technology to platform consumers across Türkiye.”

Tensor promotes its vehicle as the first Level 4 robocar that can be purchased by consumers.
Marti founder and CEO Oguz Alper Oktem said the company's nationwide operations and established infrastructure position it to support the rollout of autonomous ride-hailing across Türkiye.
“We are proud to build on this track record by working to introduce autonomous ride-hailing to Türkiye in partnership with Tensor. With our extensive field operations team, established infrastructure, and approximately 7.8 million all-time unique platform consumers, Marti is well positioned to support the rapid, safe deployment of Tensor's autonomous vehicle fleet in the years ahead.

Tensor notes that its vehicle will be equipped with a folding steering wheel and retractable pedals, just in case users want to manually drive their cars.
Context:
Tensor's Robocar is the vehicle at the center of the deal. Revealed in August 2025, it's built to work for both private owners and fleet operators, running on a proprietary supercomputer with eight Nvidia Thor-X GPUs and a high-redundancy, safety-first architecture. Tensor also holds California's second-ever DMV permit for fully driverless passenger vehicle operation, dating back to 2020.
Founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, Tensor develops Level 4 autonomous vehicles designed for both private ownership and commercial fleet use. The company unveiled its Robocar in 2025 and has since announced partnerships aimed at expanding autonomous ride-hailing beyond the United States.
The Marti agreement follows recent collaborations with Lyft in the U.S., GreenMobility in Denmark, and other international mobility providers as Tensor looks to establish a global robotaxi footprint.
