EVwire brief: Tesla is stepping up its efforts to promote the Semi, with the all-electric Class 8 truck set to appear at two public events next week aimed at both commercial fleet operators and prospective customers.
Tesla Semi Business Development Manager Jason Gies announced that a production-spec 2026 Tesla Semi will be featured at the Mid-Atlantic Clean Cities & Communities (MACCCE) Advanced Transportation Summit & Expo in Harrisonburg, Virginia, from July 21-23. The vehicle will also be showcased at Tesla Naperville near Chicago on July 20-21.
Here’s Gies’ announcement on LinkedIn.
The MACCCE conference targets fleet operators, government agencies, and clean transportation organizations across the Mid-Atlantic region. Tesla's Semi will be displayed alongside a broad lineup of commercial electric vehicles, including the Volvo Class 8 VNR Electric tractor, Blue Bird electric school buses, Chevrolet electric work trucks, Harbinger electric step vans, and a range of zero-emission utility and municipal vehicles.

Another Class 8 electric truck, the Volvo VNR Electric, will also be featured at the 2026 MACCCE.
According to Gies, Tesla's Semi team will be on-site throughout the conference to discuss fleet operations and give attendees an opportunity to see the production truck up close. The event is expected to attract fleets from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and the greater Washington region.

The Tesla Semi is not designed like conventional Class 8 trucks, so customer education is paramount.
Tesla is also hosting a dedicated "Meet Semi" event at its Naperville showroom in Illinois. Visitors will be able to speak directly with members of Tesla's Semi team about integrating the truck into commercial fleets. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience Full Self-Driving (Supervised) demonstrations in the Cybertruck, Model Y, or Model 3 during their visit.

Tesla is looking to attract potential customers through its “Meet Semi” event in Naperville.
Context:
Tesla has been steadily increasing public demonstrations of the Semi as deliveries expand beyond its initial launch customers. In recent weeks, the company has showcased the truck at the Port Laredo Global Trade Summit in Texas, announced new customer deployments through Forum Mobility and ATC Logistics, and expanded its Semi Charging for Business program to support larger commercial fleets.
Between the roadshow stops, Tesla is working every angle to get fleet operators into a Semi cab.
