EVwire brief: Powerup EV Solutions announced that it has completed the first privately owned Tesla Supercharger site in New York, delivered turnkey for EVIO Charging.
A ribbon-cutting event is expected to be announced soon.
Powerup EV Solutions and EVIO Charging founder and CEO Jake Berdugo highlighted the milestone in a LinkedIn post.
“Incredibly proud to be opening the first privately owned Tesla Supercharger in the Northeast. With more sites currently in development, this is just the beginning.”
Context:
Powerup EV Solutions specializes in EV charging infrastructure for commercial properties, including fleet depots, industrial facilities, retail centers, office buildings, and multi-family housing.
The company provides end-to-end deployment, including site design, installation, access to incentives and rebates, and ongoing operational support. According to the company, it has completed more than 100 installations across the Northeast.
In a separate post on LinkedIn, Jake Berdugo highlighted that the demand for electric vehicle charging has been rising, regardless of negative EV headlines.
“There’s a lot of noise around EV charging right now, driven by politics and global headlines. At Powerup EV Solutions, we’re not seeing a slowdown. New sites are going live weekly, demand from residents and property owners continues to grow, and utilization is increasing year over year.”

Private ownership model and Tesla’s Superchargers
Tesla Supercharger infrastructure has been increasingly deployed through third-party ownership models. The initiative has been quite successful so far, as evidenced by the growth of the Supercharger for Business program.
Superchargers deployed by third parties come standard with Tesla’s hardware, software, and pricing controls. Tesla also provides a full service package that includes network operations, maintenance, and a 97% uptime guarantee.
Some notable Supercharger for Business installations include:
Genoa Golf Club’s Superchargers in Nevada’s historic town
Diamonds by Raymond Lee’s (DBRL) Superchargers in Florida
The Courtyard’s Superharger in Fredericksburg, Texas
Francis Energy’s Supercharger site in Oklahoma
Last month, Tesla also rolled out a Supercharger for Business Calculator that shows exactly how much a business would have to invest for their own Supercharger sites.
