EVwire brief: Pangea, the EV charging app, has teamed up with Suncoast Charging to bring loyalty rewards to drivers using Suncoast's Tesla Superchargers around Tampa Bay, FL.
Under the partnership, every charge earns rewards that drivers can spend on discounts at nearby restaurants and shops, or put toward protecting Florida's wildlife and ecosystems.
“Our goal is to make charging enjoyable, and the planet healthier. With Suncoast, we finally get to do both.”

Suncoast Charging on Pangea
The rewards build with use. The more a driver charges with Suncoast, the more discounts open up at the businesses Pangea has lined up around each site, or the more they can steer toward Florida's wildlife corridors.
Tim Isenman, CEO of Pangea, highlighted the synergy between the two companies’ services in a post on LinkedIn, particularly when it comes to conservation.
“If drivers are feeling altruistic, they can direct the value of their rewards to Suncoast’s work protecting Florida’s ecosystems and wildlife corridors.”
Context:
Suncoast Charging keeps its chargers at The Hub shopping centers around Tampa Bay, and was one of the first customers of Tesla's Superchargers for Business program, which allows businesses to own and operate Tesla-built Supercharger stalls. We covered Suncoast Charging’s new Wesley Chapel site in an article last week.
The deal also fits a wider trend of retailers pairing Superchargers with the shops around them. For Pangea, it is a proof point for a two-sided pitch: be the best tool for drivers looking for their next charge, and the best place for charging networks to grow their audiences.
Tying charging rewards to wildlife conservation is a genuinely novel hook, and a very Suncoast one. We need more of this in the wild (pun intended).
