EVwire brief: Tesla has nearly doubled its Cybercab fleet in Texas overnight, with the company registering a record 150 Cybercabs in a single batch that pushed its total from 169 to 319, as per Texas Department of Motor Vehicles records.
The new batch significantly changes the look of Tesla's Robotaxi fleet in the Lone Star state. Cybercabs now make up 43% of the 739 Tesla Robotaxi vehicles registered in Texas, up from 28% the day before.

Interestingly enough, the Model Y side of the fleet has held steady at 420 vehicles since late September, which means that all of the fleet's recent growth has come from the purpose-built two-seater.
The Texas AV Tracker, which pulls daily registration data from the TxDMV, shows just how sharp the jump was. Here's its fleet growth chart for the past 30 days, with the Cybercab line spiking on October 9 while the Model Y line stays flat:

Industry watcher Sawyer Merritt flagged the new registrations on X, noting that Tesla had nearly doubled its registered Cybercabs overnight:

Context:
The Cybercab's Texas registration count has been climbing steadily ever since the vehicle first appeared in TxDMV records on August 31, when Tesla added 45 units in one day. The tally grew gradually through September, reaching 69 on September 23 and 126 by September 28, then 169 before this week's 150-unit batch.
The ramp comes about a month after Tesla opened Cybercab rides to the public across its Austin geofence on September 4, with the Cybercab fleet having already logged 1 million cumulative unsupervised miles by launch day.
