EVwire brief: Tesla is officially entering the Estonian market, with a launch event scheduled for April 24, 2026 at Ülemiste Centre in Tallinn. The event will feature vehicle displays, test drives, and the first public showing of the Cybertruck in Estonia, marking the start of Tesla’s local presence.
The move follows our reports of legal entity registrations in January, and fits the launch window we predicted for March/April 2026. We also assume something similar to be announced for neighboring Latvia soon.
This launch event follows a similar path to Tesla's recent launch in Slovakia, where an event was held in Bratislava downtown, but the Service Center was actually still being built nearby. This is also the case for Estonia — EVwire has learned, without official confirmation yet, that the Service Center and Showroom location for Tesla will be in Peetri in the outskirts of Tallinn, in a former building of the Inchcape dealership.
Tesla Europe announced its Estonia launch in a post on X. Notice how the background is actually set as Estonian flag colors: 🇪🇪
The interesting bit about Estonia is that, even without any official Tesla presence in the country, our inquiry into national statistics shows that 2,209 Teslas are on Estonian roads as of today. This makes up 19.7% of all EVs registered in the country.
In other words, every fifth EV on Estonian roads is a Tesla right now, even though there has been no service center until now.
It seems likely we’ll see a Tesla “pop-up” modular building there before the Service Center opens, like we saw in Slovakia.

will we see this also pop up in Estonia?
Context:
Tesla’s Estonia entry has been building for months. The company registered Tesla Estonia OÜ in December 2025, alongside a Latvia entity, under parent company Tesla International B.V. The filings pointed to service-related operations, suggesting infrastructure groundwork ahead of a full rollout.
Now, Tesla is moving into a public-facing phase. The April 24 event at Ülemiste Centre runs from 10:00 to 21:00, offering test drives, product showcases, and ecosystem education. Based on the format, Tesla appears to be starting with a sales and brand presence, likely followed by service expansion.
Tesla has also reportedly approached the Estonian Transport Administration (Transpordiamet) regarding the recognition of their RDW type approval for FSD (Supervised), which allowed for the rollout in the Netherlands already (more from us here).
While the application is currently under consideration, the Transpordiamet has confirmed that the recognition process is active, though a specific timeline for the local activation of FSD (Supervised) has not been set yet.
Local sightings of Tesla vehicles have already been reported by the EV community ahead of the official launch. These Teslas were spotted recently by Andrus Kangro, a local EV community member.

Estonia’s EV market remains early, but Tesla is already leading key segments
Estonia’s EV market is still in its early stages, with total adoption relatively low compared to larger European markets — 868 EVs were sold in 2025, declining -34,2% year-over-year. The EV market share rose from 5,2% to 6,6%.
However, that’s for new cars sold, whereas a lot of EVs are brought into the country as used — with total 11,175 registered as of today.

The Tesla Model 3 is currently the most popular EV in Estonia, with 1,031 units registered to date, followed by the Model Y at 724 units. Tesla also leads by brand, with over 2,000 vehicles (between “Tesla” and “Tesla Motors” in the rankings), more than double the next closest competitor.
