Tesla passes 195,000 km of FSD (Supervised) testing in France without notable incidents

EVwire brief: Tesla says its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system has now covered 195,000 km, about 121,000 miles, of testing on French roads without a notable incident. Tesla Europe shared the milestone, adding that more than 60% of that driving happened on urban and rural roads rather than easy highway stretches.

That split is the part worth noting. City and country roads are where self-driving gets hard, with pedestrians, cyclists, roundabouts and unmarked lanes, so clocking most of the miles there is a tougher test than piling up highway kilometers.

Alongside the data, Tesla is inviting the public to try the system from the passenger seat. According to Tesla's event page, FSD (Supervised) demonstrations are running in 17 locations across France, including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Montpellier, Reims, and Tours. Most events are scheduled to continue through September 30, though some locations have shorter demonstration periods.

During the demonstrations, Tesla employees drive the vehicle while participants ride as passengers to observe how the system navigates traffic, intersections, and other real-world driving scenarios. Tesla, however, notes that FSD (Supervised) is not yet available for subscription in France.

Tesla’s video demonstrated how FSD (Supervised) smoothly navigated Paris’ streets.

Context:

France is one of several European markets where Tesla has been validating Full Self-Driving (Supervised) ahead of a broader regional rollout. Earlier this year, Tesla reported accumulating 275,471 kilometers (171,170 miles) of supervised autonomous driving in Spain without a single serious incident. FSD (Supervised) has so far been approved for use in the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, and Belgium.

Unlike North America, where FSD (Supervised) is already available to customers, Tesla must complete country-specific testing and satisfy European regulatory requirements before the system can be released more broadly across the region.
