EVwire brief: Tesla is bringing its Robotaxi service to Fort Worth, Texas, with the city's launch geofence covering an estimated 143 square miles (370 square kilometers).
Tesla's official Robotaxi account announced on X that rides in Fort Worth will open at 6 a.m. local time on Monday, November 2. The launch map shows a service area centered on downtown Fort Worth and stretching out to White Settlement in the west, Haltom City in the east, Benbrook and Forest Hill in the south, and the edge of Saginaw in the north (our read of the map).

Fort Worth will bring Tesla's unsupervised Robotaxi service to seven US cities, according to Tesla watcher Sawyer Merritt. Merritt's estimates make Fort Worth Tesla's third-largest geofence, behind only Austin and Houston, and more than one and a half the size of the 81-square-mile (210 km²) geofence in neighboring Dallas.
EVwire's own estimate, based on the town locations marked on Tesla's map, lands at roughly 142 square miles (368 km²), in line with Merritt's figure. At its widest points, the zone runs about 13 miles (21 km) east to west and 15 miles (24 km) north to south.

Context:
Fort Worth's launch comes about a week after Tesla's Houston expansion, which replaced a service area of roughly 25 square miles (65 km²) with a Starship-shaped geofence about ten times larger. Tesla first went unsupervised in Dallas and Houston back in April, and the network had since grown to six US metros with the addition of Miami, Orlando and Tampa in Florida.
Tesla's Texas fleet has been growing just as quickly. Vehicles registered to Tesla's Robotaxi service in Texas topped 1,000 units in late October, with Cybercabs now outnumbering Model Ys. During its Q3 2026 earnings call, Tesla also said Cybercab rides would launch in Dallas this month, and that it is aiming to run Robotaxi around the clock by the end of 2026.
