EVwire brief: Tesla's FSD Supervised is now cleared for Czech roads, making Czechia the seventh European Union country to approve the advanced driver-assist system. The approval lands about two weeks before the EU's Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles votes on bloc-wide authorization on October 6, which could open all 27 member states to FSD Supervised.
Tesla Europe confirmed the approval on X, noting that rollout to Czech customers will begin soon:

Czechia's Ministry of Transport also announced the news on X, framing the approval as the result of months of review:
"This step was preceded by months of expert evaluation and discussions with Czech and international experts, as well as Tesla representatives. We were particularly interested in how the system functions in everyday operation, how it responds to traffic signs and speed limits, and how it ensures that the driver continues to pay attention to driving.
“Experiences from countries where the system is already in use were also important. We want modern technologies to pave the way onto Czech roads. Safety remains the top priority."
The approval is notable because Czechia had previously said it would not recognize the Dutch RDW approval without further consideration, instead preferring to wait for a coordinated European approach. In June, the Ministry stated that it “is proceeding in such a way as not to assume an unassessed safety and legal risk, not to spend public funds on a non-harmonized solution and not to preempt decisions at the European Union level.”
The Ministry also argued that there are only a few hundred registered Tesla vehicles that were compatible with FSD Supervised in the country. The comments promptly received pushback from EV owners, ultimately resulting in the Ministry’s post getting Community Noted on X.

Context:
Czechia joins the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, and Slovenia on the list of EU countries that have individually cleared FSD Supervised. Each approval adds weight to the case for the bloc-wide authorization up for a vote on October 6, which needs a qualified majority of at least 15 of the EU's 27 member states.
That vote got a boost earlier this month when Sweden signaled that it will vote in favor of the system’s Europe-wide approval. Tesla's own FSD Supervised Evidence Dashboard, drawing on data from 70,000 European users across 102 million kilometers (63.4 million miles), found FSD Supervised vehicles were involved in 4.1 times fewer collisions than manually driven cars, with 98% of FSD Supervised driving logged at or below the median traffic speed.
The most detailed country-level look at that safety case so far came out of Belgium last week, where FSD Supervised covered 24.6 million kilometers (15.3 million miles) between June and August with a crash rate roughly 9.6 times lower than manual driving off highways, and about 30% lower on highways.
